Directional Drilling & Boring Equipment Financing
What are you boring through? Rock and saturated clay are completely different bores, and the drill pipe you burn through, along with the locator reading underneath it, changes with the ground conditions. A crew equipped for the easy ground spends the season renting for the hard ground. That’s the decision worth making first.

The Bank Has Never Written Paper On A Rig
The rig is the line item everybody argues about, and it is the part that cannot work alone. A locator, a mixing or recycling system, drill pipe and tooling are what turn a machine into a crew that can put a shot in the ground. All of it rides on one application here. Send the quotes and we take the package to lenders who already know the trade, and what moves the file from there is signed work. A subcontract or a utility award proves the iron has bores waiting on it the week it lands. A bank will not price that. These lenders do.
Plenty of these files reach us after a bank has already passed. Tell us what the package costs and what work you have signed, and you’ll get an honest read on where you stand before you go any further.
If This Is Your First Rig
Can I finance a used directional drill?
Rotation hours and pump hours are the first two readings an underwriter asks about, and the condition of the drill pipe is the third. Rod that has been rotated through rock and pulled back repeatedly doesn’t register on an hour meter. An older rig carrying sound pipe and documented maintenance can present the cleaner file, while a low-hour machine on worn rod generates questions. Model year by itself decides nothing.
Do the locator and mud system go on the same loan as the rig?
Yes. The rod loader too, which is the component buyers forget to price until the rig is ordered.
Can I get working capital along with the rig?
Getting paid for a completed bore takes considerably longer than drilling it. Utility and fiber work travels through a general contractor and then through the utility itself, so the money arrives well after your crew has been paid twice. That interval is what sinks operators, not the equipment payment. It’s an entirely separate problem from the equipment file. Working capital is available same day, and belongs in the same conversation as the rig.
